Summer 2014 Internships

We are looking for two great interns to work a minimum of 10 hours a week during the Summer 2014. This is an unpaid position, but benefits include:

  1. Hands on experience

  3. Working at Captain H. Tanny’s Adventure Trade and Supply Store

  4. Building relationships with really awesome kids

Program Intern

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with planning and running summer writing programs

  2. Assist with grant writing and fundraising

  3. Write and edit CYC blog and newsletters

  4. Help coordinate summer events

  5. Recruit volunteers

  6. Assist in publishing student work

Necessary Qualifications:

  1. Must be a self-starter, comfortable with a great degree of independence

  2. Ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a role with constant changes

  3. Interest in working with kids ages 6 to 18

  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  5. Editing/proofreading skills

  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Dropbox

  7. Creative problem solver

Nonprofit Management/Event Planning Intern

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan for the Fall 2014 fundraising event

  2. Identify and contact potential sponsors

  3. Create budget for event

  4. Plan theme and begin branding/marketing for event

Necessary Qualifications:

  1. Must be a self-starter, comfortable with a great degree of independence

  2. Ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a role with constant changes

  3. Interest in working with kids ages 6 to 18

  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  5. Editing/proofreading skills

  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Dropbox

  7. Creative problem solver
