At the CYC, we’re known for having a lot of fun, but when we started looking through our pictures from August, we were happy to see an extra helping of silly.
This summer, the CYC worked with kids at the Cook Arts Center and Baxter Community Center to become playwrights and performers.
The kids at the Cook Arts Center wrote two plays, Stretchwoman vs. Ms. Sillypants and Jonathan Ivan and That One Girl. The debut performances on August 16th were met with rave reviews from an audience of parents and friends. Here are a few photos:
The kids at the Baxter Community Center wrote a short play, The Haunted Library, and the world premiere performance happened right here in Grand Rapids on August 29th. You can watch a full video here:
